What types of web forms are there in Insend?

In InSend you can create different types of web forms: Pop-ups, Toppers, Footers, Sidemessages and Emebedded forms. They differ by their position on the screen and their behavior.

The web form type is selected immediately when you create it - in the "Template" step:

Let us look at the features of each web form type in detail.

1. Pop-up web form

This is a classic pop-up web form. It is displayed on the top of the screen. As long as the visitor does not close it, he cannot interact further with the website.

This type of web form is the most annoying from the visitor’s point of view. But it has a higher effectiveness than others.

2. Topper

This is a narrow (or not very narrow, depending on how you set it) strip placed at the top of the screen. The content of the website passes under it. The topper can be folded in and out as needed.

3. Footer

A footer is the same as a topper, but it is located at the bottom of the screen. Under it, the page can be scrolled. It can be collapsed and expanded.

Footers and toppers are much less intrusive than pop-ups. However, their conversion rate is usually lower.

4. Sidemessage

This interesting web form is a mixture of a pop-up and a topper/footer. Externally it looks like a pop-up, but it does not overlap the screen. The visitor can interact with the website, press buttons, etc. The sidemessage does not bother him in the process.

It can be located at the top or bottom of the page, on the right or left. Most often these web forms are used for personal notifications: "This product is watched by X people", "free shipping from $200", and "stock of X is running out". However, they are not very effective in getting visitors to subscribe to emails or sign up for discounts.

5. Embedded web form

This type of web form differs from others in that it does not pop up, but is embedded in the content of the website. When you scroll the page, the web form scrolls with it. To insert it into the website, you need to register a line of code on the HTML page. For this, you need the help of a webmaster.

Built-in forms are most often used as a kind of email subscription or advertising banner that leads to the desired area of the website. As far as intrusiveness is concerned, the built-in form can be called the most loyal web form. It does not show up, does not overlay the content, and does not disturb the visitor. Conversion rates via the built-in form are usually quite low.

It cannot be said that one type of web form is better or worse than the others. Choose the type of web form depending on your goals and the reactions of your visitors.
