How do order statuses work?

In InSend, all orders have a status. By default, a new order is created with the status "New". There are four system statuses:

  • new
  • paid
  • shipped
  • canceled

If these statuses are not enough for you, you can create your own statuses and transfer them to InSend or register an alternative key to one of the system statuses.

Order status in the visitor's timeline

When the status of an order has changed, it is noted in the visitor's timeline. The status of an order is also visible in the "Orders" block on the left side.

Order status in trigger emails

The order status is primarily needed to send a triggered mailing. For this purpose, the event "Change order status" is used in InSend. You can send an automatic mailing for this event and include the order data in the email. In this article you will learn more about how to send a mailing when the order status changes.
